When you run your own business, you are the business

That can make it really hard to separate your identity from your work – or anything in your life, for that matter. What they say about entrepreneurship being a roller coaster is true. The highs feel incredible, while the lows can hit hard.

You might have difficulty turning your brain off, feeling pressure to always be “on.” You may worry more than feels healthy, struggle to quiet the voices in your head, or feel isolated. You might second-guess every decision and miss the support system your old work environment provided. You may even question yourself and your capabilities – even though you know, intellectually, that you’re smart and capable.

In therapy, we explore what’s really going on behind the drive – the beliefs and fears that keep you in motion. We work on quieting self-criticism, managing uncertainty, getting worry under control, and creating space for rest and reflection. We also explore how old patterns show up in your present.
