Therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s natural to have questions. This page covers what to expect, how sessions work, and what therapy with me looks like.

In our first session, I’ll review the details of informed consent, get a comprehensive history, and learn more about you and your goals. I then develop a treatment plan, which is flexible and evolves over time.

I ask that you start with at least to 4 weekly 50-minute sessions at first. I find that clients who cannot commit to at least 4 weekly sessions tend to have more difficulty establishing the relationship and momentum needed to focus on forward movement and their treatment goals. Once this is established, we adjust the frequency as needed.

  • 20-minute initial phone consultation – Free
  • 50-minute online session – $200
  • 80-minute online session – $300

Many insurance companies and employers offer reimbursement for psychotherapy services. Please contact your insurance provider directly to ask whether services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist are covered by your plan. Psychotherapy is not covered by OHIP.

I accept payment through credit card over our partnered online booking system, Jane, or through e-transfer to info@brightbalancetherapy.com. I provide receipts that you can provide to your insurance companies for reimbursement.

Currently, all therapy services are virtual.

I offer secure, Canada-based software called JaneVideo. JaneVideo is a secure and encrypted online video platforms that meet all of Canada’s privacy requirements and laws. For more information, please see the privacy policies of JaneVideo.

If you need to cancel or move a session, please notify me by email 24 business hours in advance. If no notification is received, you will be charged your regular fee for the missed session.
